Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Beepollen for the Boy

Poor Aaron has been working his ass off over the last coupla weeks. I can’t wait until he’s done with this project. He’s editing the Gospel Music Awards show. I always thought of Gospel music as a specific genre with certain qualities, but it seems that nowadays, Gospel music is any kind of love songs written to Jesus. There is Thrash Gospel and Rockin’ Gospel and Pop Gospel.

More Bloomington Pictures

By Abby at 6:58 am on Wednesday, June 1, 2005

OK. I think Helen likes me, but she definitely doesn’t know what to make of me. She stared at me all weekend! My guess is that she kind of remembers me since I was around so much for her first year on earth, but she’s just not sure.

For this next one, I will ask you (dear readers), "What in the world are we looking at?"

What I Have Learned About Weddings

By Abby at 5:11 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2005

On Sunday, I attended the wedding of Kyle & Jessica in Bloomington. It was lovely. They are just some of my favorite peeps ever. So because I’d been to a wedding, and because I saw several other friends after it was over, I learned an important difference between men and women. Without fail, the women asked: What did her dress look like? And without fail, men asked: How was the food? I’m not sure what this means exactly, but it seems important.

Here’s me in the reception line after the ceremony:

And here’s the rest of it in a montage. Unfortunately, there aren’t many Aaron pictures because I kept handing him the camera while I spoke to old friends. It was a great service though. Thanks, Aaron!

I have a great picture of the wedding dress (bottom right of the montage), but sadly boys, no pictures of the food!

So much fun. I miss Bloomington, but I probably already said that, didn’t I?!

Mesh pouch, how do I love thee?

By Abby at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2005

Let me count the ways!

I adore these things. The smallest one is the perfect size for my iPod headphones or my hands-free or both! The middle one is great for makeuppy stuff, and the largest one is great for all the little cords I travel with. This 3-pack is like $4 at Target near the office supplies. I adore them. I bought a pack about a year ago and use the pouches constantly. Today, I bought 2 more 3-packs! I wish they had other colors.

Bloomington was Lovely!

By Abby at 10:09 pm on Monday, May 30, 2005

IMG_6354.jpg

Bloomington was lovely. Aaron and I just got back from a 3-day trip there. The reason for the trip was a wedding, but I got to see a lot of friends, and the weather was gorgeous. I really miss that place, and in the summer, it is idyllic – no undergrads with tons of free stuff to do, and of course lots of my friends! This is a pictures of me and my friend, Kristin. She’s about to embark on her one-year internship (like mine here in Memphis), but she’s doing hers in Houston. She also happens to have the two sweetest cats EVER! They definitely "play well with others" much better than my girls. We had the fortunate opportunity to petsit during both recent trips. Lucky us!
