Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

I’m #328! I’m #328!

Of all the people using del.icio.us, my tags have the 328th most meaningful influence, meaning I’m the 328th most helpful person using del.icio.us! How weird.

There was a time when Tribe was young when I was the #1 poster, and when Tribe had 100,000 users, I was still #2. I think that’s not a good sign for a person who was working on her dissertation. 🙁

In other Abby’s-Internet-addiction news, I was the first person to got a free premium Peanut Butter Wiki account. I love my wikis (duh!), and I shared my little referral sammich with you all, never expecting I’d get so many clicks.

Won’t things be different when I have time for a real social life?! But at least I’ll have archival evidence for the future! "Ah, remember Abby’s cute Internet addiction?!" I’ll have to find another outlet for my frenetic energy!

Why the hell are you moving to Boston?

Why the hell are you moving to Boston when it’s so cold and expensive?

  • Oh, and think what you want, but after YEARS of living in little blue enclaves in the middle of red states, I am thrilled to bits to moving to a blue state!

AHA! I think I’ve cracked it!

By Abby at 8:01 pm on Wednesday, July 6, 2005

Dianne’s response asking about whether Brooke Shields went to Princeton (yes, she did) prompted me to look up Tom’s bio. Check THIS out:

After graduating, Cruise had no desire to go to college. Instead, he moved to New York and supported himself by doing odd jobs–including busing tables and loading trucks–while attending open calls for stage and film roles. His first part was a small one, a few lines in the movie "Endless Love," starring Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt. (found here)

Methinks SOMEONE is trying to overcompensate for a little childhood jealousy. I’m just saying.

And I apologize for my inability to stop posting about this stupid topic. Please be tolerant. I am under great stress!

Google Maps Changes the World

By Abby at 7:43 pm on Tuesday, July 5, 2005

Is it just me, or does it seem like open source and Google Maps combined make the world’s coolness increase at a previously unfathomable rapid rate? Was that a real sentence?
