Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Why You Should Be Using an RSS Reader to Read This (and every) Blog

By Abby at 10:33 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2006

Come on, people. It’s 2006. If you’re not using a feed reader/news aggregator, then (like Bloglines or Google Reader) you’re about 3 years late, and you’re wasting a lot of your time. I try not to be such a die hard about this stuff, but when pressed, I have to admit that I feel sorry for people who haven’t incorporated this lovely time-saving bit of technology into their daily life. Even if you’re a person who only checks a few news sites and friends’ blogs a day, you will will appreciate the efficiency this little bit of technology offers. I shared with you the other day an offering which showed you how a feed reader works. If you didn’t try it then, try it now. Click around.

Now imagine if the links there were all your favorite sites. Cool, huh?

I won’t go on, but if you’re not using a feed reader, please check out Back in Skinny Jeans’ easy-to-follow description of the beauty of RSS readers. I promise you, it’s worth your time.

If you click on the Open Grazr button over on the right in the sidebar, you can see a bunch of links I wanted to share with you. Go ahead… Someone… try it! Here’s the basic idea:

Ask MyReaders (like Ask MetaFilter but, you know, here)

By Abby at 12:07 pm on Monday, September 11, 2006
So my desktop computer is one that my ex put together for me. It has no sound card. No really. It really doesn’t have a sound card. I have checked. Now what do I need to know to buy one? Can I just buy this, install it, and expect it to work? Is there any reason to drop any money on such a thing? Seems to me it’s the speakers that matter the most.

I Guess It’s Mine to Mess Up, Too!

By Abby at 5:27 pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2006

Well rats! I must have deleted the bottom half of my sidebar recently when I was messing around with that Flickr widget, because it’s GONE! There’s probably a relatively recent backup somewhere on my server/desktop computer, but I can’t access that right now. Why do tech problems come in clumps like this? Hmmm… wonder if my hosting company keeps a backup of stuff. Any ideas people? 🙁
