Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

This Saturday: The Old Ceremony at Cat’s Cradle

By Abby at 7:23 pm on Tuesday, September 18, 2007

Here’s a performance they did last weekend at the Cranford music festival in New Jersey.

Come see them headline the Cradle on Saturday. If you haven’t heard them before, please read the review I wrote after seeing them the first time and check out their MySpace page to hear some tracks.

If you aren’t convinced, please enjoy the following ACTUAL IM CONVERSATION I had with my friend Sooz in Boston last night (I sent her Talk Straight last week):

12:42 AM
Sooz: Talk Straight is SUCH A BRILLIANT SONG. like … i can’t even explain. amazingness! i listen to it a lot. thank you!
me: I totally know!! It’s genius
Sooz: it is freaky how good it is.
unnaturally good
me: I love it so, so much.
I know!
Papers in Order is pretty great, too
Sooz: possibly one of the top 10 most perfectest songs ever
me: I know
And Get to Love
Sooz: it is weird … never heard of them and then … bam! greatest song ever!
me: I know!
Sooz: hahah

Wow — who knew I was 34 going on 18. Awesome bands will do that to you, perhaps!

Haha. I keep reading that little exchange and think, “A lot of good that PhD did. I think I talk more like a 12 year old than I did when I was actually 12 years old!” It’s pretty damn fun. I love that instead of saying, “I know,” I said, “I totally know!” Like OMGWTFROTFLMAO!
