Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Pretzel Butterflies

By Abby at 9:20 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2006

I have a tendency to overacquire cookbooks. I recently pared down my collection (something I do periodically), and I gave several cookbooks to Linda. I’m so glad I did. Her 5 year old Joey took a particular shine to one of the books (I think I picked that one up at Boomerang on Centre Street), and it turned out to be particularly useful for Bug Week at his school.

16 perfect pretzel butterflies, with a little caramel in the middle holding them together. I’m so happy she took pictures! Nice work, Joey!

Funny you should ask. I actually saw it online last night when I was tryin to recall the name of the book I’d given her. It’s right here!

YUMMIE (and I posted a pic of our Brazilian Chocolate Cake for we made for the Middle School Culture Fair! Been an end of the year food fest!)

Though they had chosen Saudia Arabia as one of the countries…and it made me wonder IF they ever hold 6th grade *Culture* fairs in Saudia Arabian schools…some how i THINK NOT!

🙂

Cool! Joey is impressed with his picture. The kindergartners said they were yummy. We are still picking caramel out of our teeth.

Get rid of cookbooks? How do you do it? I find it very difficult. Gotta do it someday I guess because space here is a cruncher.

I just reeavalute the ones I haven’t used, then I donate them to friends, a local secondhand shop, or the library. Easy peasy!

Hello from Peru. In the Lima airport eating not-so-fancy pretzels. The ones you did are beauts!

Now that’s dedicated parenting! I wasn’t there for the pretzel fun. They had that fun without me. 🙁
