Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Mom and Dad are visiting this weekend. We went inside many of the buildings I’ve always passed in Boston. It was a fun morning.

Memphis Bloggers (and Peterson) will enjoy this picture. This guy saw me taking a picture of an anti-Focus on the Family protest outside a church by Park Street. He thought I was a gawker and took a picture of me taking a picture. I think he thought he was making me feel stared at the way he was feeling stared at… if that makes sense. But he didn’t hang around long enough to ask why I was taking pictures. I ended up talking to this one woman for about 5 minutes before realizing that she was actually an ex-gay, but one that felt proud about that fact. Very weird.

Is it wrong that after these guys made out to piss off the Focus on the Family people, I asked them to make out again just so I could take this picture? They responded to the question in the spirit of my asking it – by laughing and making out again, because HEY. They’re making out. And that’s always a fun time.

[…] One year ago, my parents were in town for a visit when we met some ex-ex-gays who thought we were on the “wrong” side. Two years ago, I was preparing to spend a night on the beat with a Memphis Police Officer. Today was very different. Kristopher and I took a lovely walk in the woods, burning off all the delicious food we ate last night at the Día de los Muertos party given by the woman I live with. […]
