Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

New Poll: Revote

By Abby at 5:16 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2005

OK. Got some suggestions. Got it working. Please vote for your preferred location. I’ve put all the suggestions in alphabetical order. You need to vote again, because the old poll was just a practice run. Mostly, I just like the little blog poll thingy, and I’m thrilled to have an opportunity to use it!

All but one place have web sites:

My thoughts are that I don’t need WiFi for a party, and that sandwiches, to me, aren’t universally appealing, because they don’t appeal all that much to me!

Update: Right now Dish is ahead. Dish has 3. Bar-B-Q Shop has 2. McAllister’s has 2. Cafe Francisco has 1.

Being Bobby Brown

By Abby at 8:44 am on Sunday, July 17, 2005

I blame Aaron entirely. He’s the one that got me watching Best Week Ever, so of course, I had to TiVo Being Bobby Brown. I’m currently watching an episode in which Bobby & Whitney go shopping at Harrod’s in London. At once point, Whitney runs into Mohammed Al-Fayed, the owner of Harrod’s, and, the father of Dodi Fayed, the man who was killed with Princess Diana. So Mr. Al-Fayed hands Bobby some pill and says it’s Egyptian Viagra, and that if he takes it, he’ll have an instant erection! In the "Next, on Being Bobby Brown" segment, they show them running into the Dalai Lama. This is freakin’ SURREAL!

Addendum: OK, Bobby keeps saying, "Mr. Lama, Mr. Lama." Hah!

Attn Memphis Bloggers: Friday, 7/29

By Abby at 7:15 pm on Saturday, July 16, 2005

OK, Blogger Bash on Friday, July 29th. I’m really excited, because there’s finally a reason to do a poll. It will look like this:

I know it’s not all that exciting, but I’ve been writing the same report night and day for a week. Comparatively, this poll thing is a blast. You can practice voting on this one if you want! Mostly, I’d like you to make suggestions for a location. I do love the Bar-B-Q Shop, but it isn’t exactly the most conducive for socializing. What would be ideal is a big-ass round table! Where would that be, kids?

Update: Fixed the thingy. Will post a new poll now.

LIA/R Story in the New York Times

By Abby at 8:15 am on Saturday, July 16, 2005

Memphis Bloggers and the Queer Action Coalition (and my Dad!) ought to feel extremely proud of themselves. Zach’s story and the injustices at the Refuge and Love in Action are in the New York Times today:

Gay Teenager Stirs a Storm

BugMeNot gave me "curiousgeorge4" as a username and "opensesame" as a password to get in.

A few other articles:
