Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Oh FUN!

OK. American Idol is ending, which is probably best, as I waste WAY too much time watching it, but even MORE fun… I just saw a commercial for "The Next Food Network Star." It’s 8 chefs competing for a show on Food Network (duh!), and it relies on audience participation like. Very fun! I’m so watching that.

Hee hee. Mexican Mickey… That’s real funny.

I did vote for Hans already. Is this that show? I didn’t even realize!

Wait! No! You have to vote for *my* friends Dan and Steve!

From an email they sent me:

“As you may have heard or seen on TV, Dan and Steve (The Hearty Boys) are finalists in Food Network’s “Next Food Network Star” series that will be starting in June. We are one of 8 chosen out of 10,000 entries and have filmed all but the series finale in which America chooses which contestant receives a full contract with Food Network. We had the most amazing time cooking for Bobby Flay, filming the CBS Morning Show with Harry Smith and drinking with Rachael Ray!

The show will air each Sunday in June (9 pm Eastern) starting with a 2 hour series opener on 6/04 and ending with the live finale 6/26. We are depending on you to help us network and get out the vote! Food Network expects this to be the biggest hit they’ve done and soon you will see our smiling faces all over the TV and newsstands.

So, watch the show because it will be fun (and we definitely have our share of goofs) and get the word out because don’t you want to say you knew us when…?”

Congrats to your friends. I still think Hans got screwed over and should have been in the final vote, but that’s just me. Dan and Steve did good. 😀

Congratulations to Dan & Steve! I think Hans sank himself by trying to do too much, then having to talk really fast to get it all explained. They asked him to do two dishes, and if he’d done only two, he could have relaxed. He was clearly the best cook in the bunch, but that doesn’t necessarily translate into good TV. Dan & Steve deserved to win. I’m hoping Hans will come back home to the family restaurant for a little while! He’s the most exciting thing to happen in Jasper in the four years we’ve had a house here.
