After visiting Katy the cripple on Saturday morning, I went to lunch with Massimo, Brian, and Shannon at the Rockford. They have a great menu.
I spent the rest of Saturday with Kathryn, who is just the best. I love this picture I took of her eating lunch:
It is going to be a four month recovery. Now she can’t try out for the Carolina Rollergirls next month. Her new boyfriend (J.D.) is moving in for the weekend to play nurse. She has to have surgery on Monday. She’s in pain but on good drugs. I’m working on getting flowers and visitors organized. Damn, poor thing. She was REALLY excited about this.

i broke my arm at roller skating practice tonight. i have multiple fractures to my left arm just above the elbow. this will require surgery (SURGERY!) which will take place on
sundaymonday. jd is wonderful and is taking excellent care of me. call if you like. i’ll be around. not allowed to go back to work before july 1.
Please. I implore you. No more wonderful photos, no more amusing Twitters, no more delightful songs I must hear, no more great people from my past emerging, no more television that surprises and amuses me, no more fascinating images I need to capture, no more wonderful friends offering your time to me, no more great movies, no more delicious food, no more great upcoming gigs, no more great options for my future. All I need from you right now, world, is fascinating and illuminating conversation about the physiology of the mind, abnormal psychopathology, and psychological assessment.

He isn’t into self-promotion, but DAMN, people should see these.
The set will grow, I’m sure, since they just got back and are no doubt still very tired. Brian has been talking about this mirror idea for a while, and I think the effect came out brilliantly.
