OK, Blogger Bash on Friday, July 29th. I’m really excited, because there’s finally a reason to do a poll. It will look like this:

I know it’s not all that exciting, but I’ve been writing the same report night and day for a week. Comparatively, this poll thing is a blast. You can practice voting on this one if you want! Mostly, I’d like you to make suggestions for a location. I do love the Bar-B-Q Shop, but it isn’t exactly the most conducive for socializing. What would be ideal is a big-ass round table! Where would that be, kids?

Why the hell are you moving to Boston when it’s so cold and expensive?

• Because Boston is a city of neighborhoods.
• Because Jamaica Plain, the neighborhood where I’ll be living, is a diverse and vibrant place with lots of cool street fairs all the time. This is the first one I’ll go to.
• Because Boston has a great public transportation system.
• Because the public green spaces and parks are everywhere (especially in my neighborhood).
• Because I’d move to a European city if my training weren’t so US-specific, and Boston is the closest thing I’m going to get in the United States. Like in a European city, Bostonians get out of their cars and walk and they keep public spaces nice so people gather there. I love that!
• Because there is a major airport with direct flights to all the people and places I love.

• Oh, and think what you want, but after YEARS of living in little blue enclaves in the middle of red states, I am thrilled to bits to moving to a blue state!

So my internship ends on August 19th, and once it’s over, it’s all packing and moving and stuff. I’d like to have another Blogger Bash before I go. One idea I was tossing around was having it when my parents are here since they have posted so much on my blog and since my dad has been so active in writing letters related to Zach and LIA/R. Right now, it’s looking like my parents will be in town 7/29-7/31 (Friday through Sunday). I know we usually have these things during the week, but I figured if we had one just after work on Friday or Sunday night, I could still get people to come. What do you think, Oh Memphis Bloggers Thee?
