Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Attn Memphis Bloggers: Friday, 7/29

OK, Blogger Bash on Friday, July 29th. I’m really excited, because there’s finally a reason to do a poll. It will look like this:

I know it’s not all that exciting, but I’ve been writing the same report night and day for a week. Comparatively, this poll thing is a blast. You can practice voting on this one if you want! Mostly, I’d like you to make suggestions for a location. I do love the Bar-B-Q Shop, but it isn’t exactly the most conducive for socializing. What would be ideal is a big-ass round table! Where would that be, kids?

Update: Fixed the thingy. Will post a new poll now.

Once before, the old Melange *offered* to host. Maybe some nice restaurant would like to volunteer in exchange for lots and lots of free (and good if they do it right) press? Maybe some of the young, hip bloggers know of a good place that might like the arrangement?

I hate Jillian’s but it might be pretty accomodating and if we get in the mood, we can go bowling! You remember that old song, “Take the Skinheads Bowling?” from the Dead Milkmen. New song, “Take the Bloggers Bowling.”

i vote for dish – they have wi-fi. if we go around 7ish we should pretty much have the front to ourselves – plus they know a few of us around there….

At Otherlands working on a report, but I will redo the poll with those two places. Oh! What about the place with the BBQ Tofu Nachos?! Tracks? I’d love an excuse to go there again. 😀

Well, y’all know I’m in, but as A St. Louisan In Exile I have no clue as to appropriate venues for a Bash (I only suggested The BBQ Shop for the “Congrats Dr. Abby” bash because it’s 1) within walking distance of my apartment, and 2) I know how much Dr. Abby loves their food). You native and adopted Memphians surprise me, ok?

hate to be so boring, but McAlister’s? being a deli, it’s pretty “universal” as far as food goes and of course they have wifi. we’d just have to specify which one, cos there’s several.

I agree with Rachel, dish is our best bet.
Cafe Fransico is also an option–they have wi-fi as well.
