Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Blue Flowers on the Bluest Day

By Abby at 11:51 pm on Wednesday, January 24, 2007

1. Vased, 2. Up Close, 3. Neon, 4. Blue Bunch

Remember how I said that Monday was the bluest day of the year? Well, I got some lovely blue flowers that day. Today, I finally got around to photographing them.

I’ve also finally started uploading my pictures from Sunday’s Carolina Rollergirl’s bout. Engelfish and AaronZ have uploaded a number of really GOOD photos of the event, too, and the uploads continue, so keep checking the "carolinarollergirls" tag. Can’t wait to go again. It was a total blast.

It’s a Big Day in Raleigh

By Abby at 4:57 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2007
It’s a big day in Raleigh, North Carolina. The opening bout for the Carolina Rollergirls is in a couple of hours (I have tickets),

AND the Extreme Makeover Home Edition that was filmed here (stopped traffic, caused a big ole hubbub) about a month ago is airing tonight. I’ve never seen this show before (nor has anyone I’ve spoken to locally), but I’m TiVo-ing this one so I can get the whole scoop. Very exciting!

Here is a picture I found in a batch taken locally during the filming:

Mozart Means I Can’t Go Kart

By Abby at 12:57 am on Tuesday, January 9, 2007

I think my Dad summed it up well on the phone:

You went and sang Mozart for a man, and now you don’t get to go Go Kart Racing.

Today was a big day. It was the first day of THE BIG JOB HUNT. I contacted two people and re-found many of the files I had ready for this big day. Once guy actually called back. Although his practice can’t add new clinicians right now because of space, he’s willing to meet with me to help me identify some appropriate place to apply.

Tonight I had a successful audition for local choir (honestly, I’m a bit overqualified for choirs because of all my training, but that’s where I want to be, so that’s where I go!). This means I can’t join a local group that is going Go Kart Racing because choir rehearsal is on the same night. I’m actually pretty bummed about it. I’ve always wanted to do that. I also can’t join in the Flickr group’s monthly Tuesday event OR the local blogger Tuesday get togethers OR the Karaoke Meetups on Tuesdays. How did all these event end up on Tuesday? What’s wrong with Wednesday?!

One day, I will go Go Kart Racing. Who’s with me?! Maybe I can get those Flickr people to join me. They seem up for anything, although it might be hard to drive and shoot. Maybe we can take turns.
