I blog when I feel like it. I haven’t felt like it. And I think that’s OK. Blogging and photography are things I do because I love them. If I forced myself to do them when I didn’t want to, it wouldn’t be as fun. The nutshell of things is that I’m licensed and trying to find a job, and I have a new camera. I’m trying to force my rudder to direct me somewhere good, but it’s not working the way I want just yet. I’ll get there. I really will. Don’t lose faith.
Bestest Birthday Weekend EVAR!
I know I use superlatives a lot, but really, my birthday weekend was pretty exceptional! Brian and Shannon had this really great party for me, and a ton of my favorite people showed up. We sat outside on the deck by the fire, played Apples to Apples (which I’ve barely played since I left Boston), played Wii (I’m a little embarrassed that I’m actually SORE from it!), and had just a generally very fine time. I love my friends. I really do. I’ve done quite well for myself. What’s even MORE fun is that friends of mine who didn’t know each other before met and seemed to like each other. That’s always been a phenomenon I’ve really loved. Anyway, a few images from the fun (first three by Katy, who was an absolute STAR with the camera):

There was also a great Flickr meetup on Saturday at the former Bickett Gallery. Thanks, Molly! We had such a fun time. Check out the pictures.
MIT Sues Frank Gehry for Design Flaws in the Stata Center
Been busy singing and job hunting and such, but this is a news story worth sharing…
Andy Carvin just twittered that MIT is suing the architect Frank Gehry for design flaws in the Stata Center. This is huge news, since he is so well-respected, and the building is so revered. It will be interesting to see how this goes. I had the opportunity to photograph it while living in Boston. I really love it and think it fits in perfectly on MIT’s campus. I had no idea they were having so much trouble with it.
The school asserts that the center, completed in spring 2004, has persistent leaks, drainage problems and mold growing on its brick exterior. It says accumulations of snow and ice have fallen dangerously from window boxes and other areas of its roofs, blocking emergency exits and causing damage.
