Homo Gnome
I am beyond thrilled that Peterson took my suggestion and got himself a Home Gnome. SOOOO fun. 😀

On the way in to the Pumpkin Thing, we saw a nutty schizophrenic man who was acting as a sort of greeter. Well, HE thought he was a greeter. Mostly, he was ignored. We walked around, and as we were crossing over to the shops by Park Street Station, we heard what sounded like an explosion. We made a joke about how someone didn’t like the pumpkin. This morning at work, when people asked how my weekend was, I mentioned going to the thing at the Common. Turns out maybe out crazy friend was up to no good. The picture in the Herald sure looks like the guy we saw. Good timing for us, I guess. Luckily, no one was hurt.
In other news, it’s going to take a month to fix the mildew/flooding in my office, so we have to set up in the conference room for now. I hate this shit. I’ve had resource problems for over a year now. How about a regular office with a desk and a computer. How about that? Pretty please?

Update: Apparently, it wasn’t our man. Aaron says he thinks this guy looks younger than the nutty guy we saw. They sure look a lot alike, but I think Aaron may be right. Still, I think we heard the bang go down. Weird.

Joey Turns 5. Of course I’m sharing the picture of him opening up the present we got him! 😛
There was actually a good hour or two the first day we got to the B&B when it wasn’t raining
The first morning we were there, this is what we awoke to – the clouds rolling in over the mountain. Grey, but lovely!
Luckily, we located some candy while on the trip

On Sunday, we had to decide between a JP benefit for this apparently excellent Cuban restaurant (El Oriental de Cuba) that was firebombed this past summer and seeing Buffalo Tom close out the Brookline 300 celebration. Since Buffalo Tom is a band I used to go see all the time when I lived in Boston back in the day, and Brookline (my old neighborhood) was having its 300th year anniversary, we decided to do the latter. Turns out, Jack and Meg ended up at the Milky Way Lounge (in JP, my neighborhood) to bowl a few games. So they are always in my neighborhoods (Midtown Memphis, Jamaica Plain in Boston), although not where I am… although Aaron swears saw the back of Jack White’s head at the P&H one night. The White Stripes are playing a few shows at the Opera House here, but honestly, the tickets were EXPENSIVE!!! I’m going to Black Keys instead. Only one rockin’ blues duo per season. I have a job, after all!
