Blink of an Eye

Flickr is having a contest called Blink of an Eye. They will pick five winners. Each person can only submit one photograph. I know I don’t have much of a shot, but I enjoyed choosing my entry (below), and I’m loving seeing other people’s entries. So much beauty!

This photograph was taken at the Memphis Zoo in the panda house. We’d just raced through a torrential summer afternoon downpour to get there. Once inside, I saw this bride posing for her wedding portraits. This scene was just sitting there, waiting for me. Yes, I got her email and mailed her the pictures, and she thanked me.

Happy Birthday, Kristin!

Kristin’s birthday was a huge success! Here’s my favorite picture of the night. The limo Bruce got for us had a mirror in the back with these little twinkle lights. I took several shots (because I always take several shots of anything so I can pick the best one), and it wasn’t until later that I noticed that the lights in all of the pictures were different colors. I put the four pictures together. I love the effect.

Casual-like

Why does this picture amuse me so? It was taken in the bathroom of the Seattle Public Library. It’s quite a building, if you’ve never been. The interior colors are shocking at every turn. You enter a dark red hallway, get into an electric yellow-green elevator, and then the bathroom is this robin’s egg blue. It keeps you guessing. And as you see, Anne and I – while in the bathroom – were very casual indeed.

It’s more pictures than anyone wants to see, and I’m still editing like a banshee. What I really recommend is checking out the slide show of me, Anne, and Veronica, because that was truly the best part of the trip.
