When the time comes, definitely a Canon Digital Rebel XTi. I have a long discussion with my Flickr friends (prompted by the latest Consumer Reports SLR reviews - they were taunting me in Border’s last week) and went and tried cameras out at Peace Camera yesterday. Yup… That’s the one. The month isn’t up yet for my fortune to come true! Besides the no money thing, there is also the fact that the kit lens it comes with isn’t great. Will figure that all out later.

I’m an amateur photographer. I am beyond prolific. I have one of your Powershot A540’s, and it goes everywhere I go. While some people use Auto all the time, I use every single setting the camera has. I usually shoot in manual mode, but I also use Aperture Priority a lot, and recently, I’ve been very taken with the Color Accent feature. My Canon is my constant companion, and noone puts it to better use than I.
Right now, I’m studying for my licensure exam, but I’m not working. Recently, I went to a wedding and encountered many wealthy people with your SLR’s. I know I am not making any money, but is it really fair that people who don’t even know how to use their cameras, people who only pull out their cameras for special occasions, should have nicer cameras than someone like me, who takes pictures off my camera and edits and uploads them every single day? I will be working soon, and I promise that as soon as I’m on my feet, you’ll have a loyal and dedicated Canon fan for years to come. I bring so much to the world with my pictures. Isn’t it only fair that I get a nice Canon Digital Rebel XTi with maybe a nice bokeh lens?
What do you say? I promise I’ll make you proud! I’m sure you have some of last year’s models sitting around somewhere, just gathering dust. I say put them to good use.

OK, on my next vacation (haha), I’m going to The Garden of the Gods. It looks amazing! I miss my friends so much. When I think about my "Bloomington Buddies" and my LR Peeps (don’t ask), I want to squish them all into one little town (with mountains and lakes and a cool downtown and the perfect climate and the perfect 40-hour a week job) and all live 5 minutes away from each other with enough space to not drive each other mad, but close enough to have people to have dinner with a few times a week and parties sometimes on the weekends. I do love the Internet for making all my friends just one click away, but sometimes, I want it to be real. My open invitations to visit friends in Carbondale, India, SF, Austin, Denver, and New York are so appreciated, but there’s no time or money to go. Some day soon. (No, Nanu, I will not take down your picture!!)
