I’ve been such a lazy blogger lately. Here’s the blog post Anna just wrote about today:
Abby & I are in a remote camp in Maine which for some reason has a wi-fi connection. Abby was bright enough to bring her laptop! We went to the North Atlantic Blues Festival today and got back to the cabin right after the 24 year old law students (who had skipped the blues festival to stay here and party) left for a bar crawl. Kids are weird.
PERFECT! So we’re listening to Bhangra, drinking wine and searching Roadside America for quirky attractions, as well as lighthouses and yarn shops to visit on the way back to Boston (although I blew it in Unique One Sweaters in Camden today). Dude…some weird japanese lambswool laceweight I had never SEEN. Great yarn store, and I am not easily impressed by yarn stores. One picture, Two Art Forms: Abby’s Photography and My Knitting:
Sock Goes to the Blues Festival
And here is an audio recording I made from the festival. What’s amazing is that you can’t hear the music in the background at all. And it was LOUD!
Thinking of my Indian friends and their families. I don’t like this. It’s way too familiar.
Anna needed to go shopping for a dress for a wedding, so I entertained myself by trying on the most impractical dresses I could find and taking silly pictures. Anna even joined in when I picked out salmon matching dresses for us. I highly recommend trying it! Anna didn’t find the dress she was looking for, but we had a seriously fun time anyway! Update: I highly recommend you check out the many comments from this one woman, who seems very serious about this game of dressup I played today. I get her full opinion on several of my outfits. Very funny! She was aghast that I didn’t buy the green and blue one. I mean, it was lovely, but it just isn’t karaoke attire! 😛
Work to Live, Not the Other Way Around
This piece was written by Veronica, one of my best friends, who actually witnessed me working on my "vacation" and who actually received more than one call from her office during her "vacation."
