Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Perfect Explanation of Boston Driving

By Abby at 5:44 am on Wednesday, October 19, 2005

It’s why I do well here. Although the navigation is about to kill me – although there has been improvement since the GPS.

The long version. Perfect!

And let me add that oddly, I am more suited to fast break, slalom driving than to the inattentive insanity that is Memphis driving.

The danger posed by Boston drivers is a far more acceptable sort than that in Memphis. In Boston, you’re sure to see the car that is going to hit you and can be quite certain they see you, too. In Memphis, no one sees it coming.

I think I rather prefer knowing.

It’s because you learned to drive in Atlanta. It’s the whole sprint, turny thing. My Yeep was perfect for that kind of driving. It’s alright in Denver, but I miss curves. 😉

Assaf! Howzit?! Just reread the long article. I love this:

“a distinct, vicious and deeply unfair Native Advantage”

God, that’s true. It’s why Boston is hard to like on first visit. It takes some study.

Thanks for the link! Glad you liked the post. Nice site; I especially like the Fight Club-esque rules. Did you find my site through Universal Hub or had you been reading it for a while? I’m always curious about where ppl are coming from.

The long list was pretty good, but I’ve seen at least a couple items used in lists about other cities (St. Louis, for instance). I’ve probably posted the St. Louis list, but I’d have to dig though the archives to find it.

I am of the opinion that Abby’s style of driving has nothing to do with the city in which she learned to drive or the city in which she lives and everything to do with her personality.

You may be right, but I certainly fit in just fine in Hotlanta, land of speeding!

Hello! I think you’ll see leaves here in Boston, too.
