Apparently from other angles, he did shake hands. Andrew Sullivan’s site made that correction. Doesn’t make his behavior any more authentic. What’s interesting is that he DOES have the ability to be more authentic. I’ve seen it over many years on Letterman, but I swear, McCain has left the building!

I think most people are compassionate enough to eliminate and compensate for the physical appeal problem.

there’s something more fundamental laying beneath the surface.
it’s called… authenticity ?

it’s not just the theatricals and aesthetics.

it’s also the track record, the inconsistencies and the erratic behaviour.

McCain could have given a great case to support him even from a death bed, or … a Roosevelt-like wheelchair.

The problem is he doesn’t have such case.
