Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

I grew up on the border of Texas and Arkansas, my brother lived in Memphis for a few years, and I've lived in NC for about four years. I love brisket and I've grown to appreciate pulled pork with the vinegar sauce, but dry rub from Memphis is unbeatable.

I've had the Bar-B-Q spaghetti from the Bar-B-Q Shop in Memphis. I was a doubter until I tried it, but it's as good as it looks. Also, vinegar-based Bar-B-Q sauce is never a good choice in my humble opinion. And, finally, the Rendezvous in Memphis is the finest anywhere. Abby's Dad and I had our first date there.

For the record, even people in Memphis scoffed at me when I ordered the BBQ Spaghetti. You have to go in with an open mind. I can say that anyone who's ever tasted it has loved it. There's nothing more delicious. But you have to be willing to look a little silly. That's what being a trailblazer is all about. Hugh is a little better of a friend after I learned about his love for that dish - AND that he also knew the Bar-B-Q Shop's owner, Eric.
