Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Snarky Trolls Will Not Deter Me

By Abby at 6:14 pm on Tuesday, November 13, 2007

Snarky trolls, man. It’s an unfortunate side-effect of heavy internet usage. To Dana and any other trolls who decide to log on, judge me based on only what you read hear and see online, don’t really say who you are, then run away… Save your breath. My dad taught me well. I see comments like those you see here, I check the email address left (usually something lame and made up) and the IP address (so I can see where you are writing from – you never seem to understand about proxy servers or other ways of covering your ass), and then I just click spam and move on with my life. I’m not an insecure person. I do know the whole story. And you know what? You’re just wrecking your karma. Hurts you more than it hurts me. Do me a favor and put some love out there.

Wow! It’s monumentally pathetic to say mean things behind a fake identity when you already have the indirectness of virutallity going for you. At least if someone says something mean to you directly as themselves you can respect that they were direct, but with someone going to the trouble of hiding behind a made up persona on the internet to say mean things all you can do is shake your head and reject that invitation. Sad and pathetic people out there.

It has been my experience that those are the people that need lots of love and compassion. Keep up the great work. To those of us still transitioning from being the 37yo divorced yada, yada, yada, you are an inspiration :o)

Oh wow. Thanks, Pamela. I think you’re right about the compassion thing. But it’s hard when they are anonymous. It’s hard when you can see that someone is knowingly trying to push your buttons. I know it isn’t particularly Teflon of me to TALK about being Teflon, but I’m not perfect. It rattles me. I had to write it to talk myself into it.

I think I didn’t need to share the email and name and stuff. Might remove that now. Just because there’s no reason to keep it here. My point was to share that I can see all that info behind the scenes. It seems that trolls don’t always know that.
