Well, I knew that I liked it, but I just worked out that it made Explore on Flickr. Maybe there IS something to Explore!

It’s an algorithm that is used to determine a picture’s “interestingness” on the site. It uses number of views and comments, and it seems to be affected by themes that are pertinent to the day. Many people will tell you that it is bullshit, and in many ways, they are right. But I will tell you that if you go look at the pictures in Explore, many are very good.

Be careful with explore! Some people get Explore-fever.

What is Explore on Flickr? What does it mean to make it there? How does one make it there?
