Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Yup

When the time comes, definitely a Canon Digital Rebel XTi. I have a long discussion with my Flickr friends (prompted by the latest Consumer Reports SLR reviews - they were taunting me in Border’s last week) and went and tried cameras out at Peace Camera yesterday. Yup… That’s the one. The month isn’t up yet for my fortune to come true! Besides the no money thing, there is also the fact that the kit lens it comes with isn’t great. Will figure that all out later.

I take offense to the kit lens not being that great.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you need all of these L-Series professional lenses to take great photos.

Get to know your equipment inside and out.

Oh, good to hear you say that, Don, because it’s the most affordable option. This was the opinion of the dude at Peace Camera. I’ll definitely being doing much more research about lenses before I buy. Next time we hang, tell me all your thoughts on the topic (at least all I’ll understand at this early juncture!).

Speaking of lenses, see if you can pick up a 50mm f/1.8 as well. They’re pretty cheap, have great low-light quality and very durable.

Hey Abby…met you at the Serenity screening. I bought an XTI in April and absolutely love it! The bad thing is the cost…expensive. Have had to reduce my diet to bread and water and forgo any social life cuz it was $$$$$. It was definitely worth it.) My next purchase is 100-300mm lens =)
