Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

She Chortled In Her Joy

Oh frabjous day. Callooh! Callay! The room-darkening curtain project bought me an extra hour and a half of sleep! It was worth the knee injury! Take that, early rising cats!
Scene of the Crime Boo Boo

Actually, the knee thing isn’t that bad. Hurt like shit when I hit it on the corner of the bed, but I iced it, so it’s really nothing now.

In other news, I’m actually feeling better. Hooray for antibiotics and neti pots!

OK, back to bed. The cats aren’t keeping me awake now. It’s my damned enthusiasm!

I really does. I do so little of it that I forget how nice it feels! It’s GREAT!

Oops, sorry. The magazine at that site, Paul Krassner’s The Realist, was one of the early counterculture journals, in many ways contributing to the ethos that seems to infuse the more vigorous parts of the blogosphere, and the fact that somebody has scanned in the entire set of 146 issues seems cool. I read through the article about Lenny Bruce’s arrest. Seems ancient in some ways, still very pertinent in others. I just thought if you were compelled to sit aroundm immobilized, you might find something interesting in this paleo-hipster archeology…if not, of course, ignore and move on. As I said it is an echo of something from long ago.
