I Miss Clinton

By Abby at 12:58 pm on Sunday, September 24, 2006

God, I miss Clinton. His presidency was the only time in my life that I was able to engage politically, able to understand what the hell was going on. I have no inherent interest in politics myself, but when Clinton was president, I felt like he spoke, and I understood. He organized the barrage of information for me and told me in an organized way what was going on, and why it should matter to me as an American. He never spoke in vague cliches. There were always specific examples, which he pulled right out of the encyclopedia in his head, to help me and everyone else “get it”. Damn, I miss him. Will there ever be such a president again?

Short answer: Yes. Will you still be alive? Probably. The political pendulum does swing back and forth, but sometimes it gets stuck, and you have to get in there and push it.

I miss Clinton too and wholeheartedly agree that when he was prez, politics seemed clearer. I also belive that there were more “under the table” dealings (gosh, what a pun :/ ) that may have staved off unwanted terrorist action. But who am I to say?
