Pints & Pub Grub By Candlelight
Tonight, there was a blackout at James’ Gate Pub. The K’s and I had a fine time having our pints and pub grub by candlelight:
Click the pic for an excellent short slideshow of the outage from inside the pub.

It was kinda cozy in there with the lights out. They were so nice to let us pay the tab later.

I know! The register was down, so they said to just come back and pay later. So cool! I thought it was amusing that the Irish bartender said, “You’re here all the time. Just pay next time you’re in!”

Google was not able to give me any sort of answer so,…
When do you anticipate leaving that job you so detest? You’ve said you anticipate a September move to Raleigh. Does that mean youhave a job and everything all set up? I just picked your latest posting to ask these as I could find no more apprortiate venue for them. Hope it doen’t take away from your fun trend.

Oh, watch for the additional brews that may suddenly appear on your “Pay when you come in next time” tab. Easy money with most of those a bar considers steady clientele. Hopefully, this is not such an establishment. What were they gonna do other than shut the place down?

I’m sort of a dyed in the wool cynic, some would say. Yeah I know— “appropriate” instead of whatever I wrote in my previous to the last comment. Sorry.

I’m lucky to be one of the K’s. Extra time to pay is extra cool.

i’ve got the ac blastin in my little corner of the house (where most of bostonist is produced) – though reports have come in of similar blackouts all over the cities of boston, somerville, and cambridge. My ice is still frozen, but I serve my guiness at 42 degrees (and still don’t know what that converts to in C)
