Many months ago, I donated a small amount of money to this guy who said that if he received enough donations to buy himself a G5, he’d blow up his G4 (that’s a Mac upgrade for my fellow PC people). Well, last night while I was sleeping, I got an e-mail from him. He did it!

Oh Spidra, you’re such a spoilsport. Naw, just kidding! I mean, you are, but with good reason. I just wanted him to have a new pyooter cuz who doesn’t love a new pyooter?!

Leaving aside the moral questions, thats a freakin hilarious and well made video! And well, it was worth it since he did get what he wanted! But yeah, if he’d donated it to someone in need it would have been so good – but then would people have donated to his cause and helped him buy a G5? 🙂

I know folks are going to think I’m a spoilsport but even though the video was well-made and funny, I can’t stop thinking of the waste. That old computer could have been donated to a non-profit that would have really appreciated it. Instead we get guns, Hummers, and more waste for the landfill. Whither “Think Different”?
