Linda and I have in our heads that we WILL see a movie, because with her kids and my job/life, neither of us have seen a movie in the theater in forever. So today was supposed to be the day. I wasn’t supposed to have to go in to work. She was supposed to have the nanny over to kidsit. But I did end up having to go in. I ended up making up a pack of well-crafted lies so that I could leave (It didn’t hurt that I turned in 3 reports today, while her practicum student got a tongue-lashing for missing a feedback completely… something I haven’t EVER done). Once out on the road, I learned that Linda’s day had gone terribly awry, yet we soldiered on and made a backup plan. While we still didn’t make it to an actual movie, we did take a nice leisurely walk down Mass Ave in the beautiful sunshine, then have a delicious Eritrean meal sitting at the window right in the sunbeam. WARM!
After lunch, we walked back towards her place and stopped in for quite a while at the Relax the Back store. We tried out all the chairs and beds and relaxer toys. I really liked the inversion table, as you can see. I liked the Swopper, too.
On the drive home over the Charles, the skies were blue, and there was a small regatta. Runners and dog walkers covered the bridge, and the sun reflected off the water. I think I know why I forgot about not liking Boston when was here before. The beautiful Spring got me all confused! When it arrives, its hard to remember what came before, and that was my last view of the place before I left. I won’t forget the long winters this time, but I won’t let that keep me from enjoying every day I have here of springtime.
