Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

THANK YOU!

I have wonderful, wonderful peeps. Thanks, everyone, for the notes, the IM’s, the text messages, the e-mails, the comments, the visits, and the wisdom… And if I haven’t called you back, give it a few days. Times is weird.

Life’s offering me a LOT of lessons to learn right now. Y’all PLEASE send me good thoughts, vibes, and whatever else you’ve got!

good vibes, good vibes, good vibes. The BEST, in fact! (i don’t know what that means, really. But it sounds interesting, anyway.)

I don’t really feel at liberty to say very much, Abby, but do know that you’ve been in my thoughts a ton. You’re a wonderful, strong and resilient person and a fantastic woman, to boot – never forget that.

Hey Abby. I’m really sorry not to have written sooner. It’s worth noting, however, that this is the first thing I’ve posted to a blog (chatroom, you name it) EVER. Really… “long-time listener, first-time poster.”

Anyhow, I just want you to know that I was very, very saddened by the news about you and Aaron. I do hope that you will pass along to him how sorry Michelle and I are to hear that he is leaving Boston. But, in a weird way, how happy we are, too, that he has been given an opportunity to do exactly what he wants to do, and to be where he wants to be. That’s something that I think we can all appreciate. THAT DOESN’T MEAN IT SUCKS ANY LESS, MIND YOU.

Finally, don’t worry… you didn’t miss ANY mardi gras festivities this weekend. I’ve been working on a paper I have to pre-circulate for a conference by March 1st. Things are just way too exhausting these days. I know you’ve been feeling every bit as overwhelmed, professionally-speaking, and that such feelings affected things with Aaron. Very soon–I promise!–we’ll get together for some fun. And, to echo Frisbee girl above, you’re in our thoughts too, constantly. yr friend, Scott

Wow! Scott! I’m super-stunned. You posted! Thank you sooo much for everything you’re saying here. Yes, exactly where he wants to be, doing exactly what he wants to do is so completely wonderful, and I couldn’t be prouder. Not to oversell it, but I do think his absence is helping me get some much needed perspective on some important things that aren’t quite working right now in my life, too. All that said, yes, there is much suckage. Much suckage indeed.

Oh I ALWAYS remember your open invitation, Laura! 😀

Some day, I’ll take you up on it. Right now, just trying to do my thing, learn some lessons, and avoid making any major changes until I’m a little more settled.
