Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Thumps and Bumps and Changes

By Abby at 7:32 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2005

I’ve been on Tribe.net since the week it launched, way back when. At one point, I was the #1 poster there. Tribe has released a new Terms of Use which calls into question the security of what is posted there. As a result, I’m removing much of my content from the site, and many of my friends and I are bugging out. I’ve decided to stay in the tribes that discuss banal and public topics, because why not? Why should I kill the "BBC America Junkies" and music-themed tribes I moderate? Nothing too personal goes in those anyway. It’s sad though… the end of an era.

In other news, yesterday on a walk with the dogsittees, my feet flew out from under me, and I landed right on my ass. Then today, I stood up quickly and bonked my head on the under side of the breakfast bar to my kitchen. As a result, my brain’s all fuzzy, and there are all these reports to write. And I don’t want to!

Hope you’re all having a fine bit of downtime before the new year gets going.

Sounds like the MBA’s of the world have come to your Tribe like they seem to do. I wonder what they’re cooking up in that #5 clause? I agree that it doesn’t sound particularly good. $urely it’s $ome kind of $cheme to make money.

Sorry. Tribe was a good thing for you…

Man, you have no idea.

Is there a name for the affliction that forces these MBAs to put their grimy little mitts on everything so people will know they’re in charge?

The truly sad part is, none of the recent changes at Tribe brings them closer to the goal of being a viable business and they were communicated extremely poorly. A complete waste of everyone’s time, really.

That Tribe is managing to alienate its core die-hard is amazing to me.

Just following the rules and posting something as it is my first visit to your site. I am a tribe refuge and am searching through all the rubble looking for lost friends and new ones. Hope to see you about as I try to pick up the pieces. Take care…
