Adventures with Dr. Lady Cutie Troublemaker

Life is in flux BIG TIME these days. I want to keep in touch with all of my peeps. The Internet is this beautiful thing. I can move to a brand new city and still stay in easy, near-daily contact with the people I love. When I feel connected to the people in my life that matter, I am unstoppable!

Make sure you have the most recent version of Quicktime installed.

Well, I knew we’d get around to making a real vlog post some time. Abby takes too much video with her camera, and Aaron is way too good of an editor. So without further ado, please join Abby and Aaron on their trip to the new Stoughton, Mass IKEA… in which Abby kisses a frog, and it turns into a prince.

Liz only came here and left a comment because she heard me cackling in the other room.

Okay, it worked! Very cool. I liked the parking lot sequence best, though frog/prince graphics were a close second…

Version 7.0, Quick Time, it made the stuff on CSPAN work too. I’m a Version 7.0 junkie…

But how were the meatballs?!

Sonia and I were able to go down for a sneak preview last weekend (we know someone who works there). It was madness even thought it hadn’t open! There’s a little video montage of our trip in the latest episode of DriveTime.

After panicky trips to NJ and then New Haven (panicky because we’d rented some strange shaped car and had to make sure we maximized our trip), it’s nice to have this one right on the way to Sonia’s parents house — meatballs every weekend!

Aaron and I are bummed we didn’t take more video. We got so excited on the way in that I asked him to video the scene, but once we got inside, we were having so much fun that the video-ing fell by the wayside.

Aaron says he just noticed how the editing makes it look like I’m telling him to film the guys with the flashlights directly traffic as we’re already passing them, creating something that is more a caricature of me than the real me. In reality, I said it a good 50 feet before we got there.

This reality show is totally messing wiith my personality, dude. I feel misunderstood. No, not really. I noticed that impression it gave as he was editing, and it’s cool. I thought it was funnier that way.

Be careful not to expose TOO much that goes on behind the curtain. What if Liz realizes we aren’t THAT insane and it’s just the editing that makes it so?

Okay. I love that kiss the frog and he turns into a prince bit. Can I send you some video of me kissing a frog and some of your dad, and have you fix it up? I’ll have to find a frog. Would a cat or dog do?

Watched the movie with my boyfriend who does communication at Ikea here in NL. Loved the clip, but wished it was more of the inside of the store… Maybe later?

Love the boxer dog to. We have a white boxer… An oldie… ;-)

regards!

I so wish we’d done more inside the store, too. To be honest, we were just having so much fun that we sort of forgot about the video. Next time we do a video, we’ll prepare and actually get some sort of narrative goin!

Glad you enjoyed it. :D

You’re going to have to ask Aaron. He’s the editor!
