I had seen that duck sculpture but didn’t put it together with the duck book. That’s awesome. 🙂

Do you remember the ducks on the pond in front of Lidgate Hall? Do you remember their single file trek to the lower pond each day? Do you remember Pooh getting at the end of the line and following them?

Yes to the first question. As for the other two, I remember you telling that story, but I don’t remember seeing it.

When my NY city parents came to Memphis when I attended LIA, we escaped to downtown (the “forbidden zone”) to see the ducks. After the fanfare and the ducks exit with a flourish into their elevator, my father remarked (rather loudly) “Gee, in the South, they even have livestock in their swanky hotels.”

Haha! I guess it would give that impression, wouldn’t it. Although I grew up in Atlanta, where we don’t have ducks in the hotels, if you can believe it!
